Online Update
Like all software, maintenance releases are posted to the companies web sites for customers to download.
The AutoShop Controller makes it extremely easy for you to update your software.
First, connect to the internet.
On the main toolbar click on "Online Update" then select "Download the latest version of The AutoShop Controller" as seen below.
Once clicked then a window such as the one below will appear:
And finally, after the data is downloaded, you will see this screen:
The details of what's happening are under the hood:
On a single station setup it does not get any easier. Just follow the very simple instructions above and the maintenance release will automatically download and self installed.
On a multi-station network, only one station needs to perform the "Online Update". The software will place this downloaded file on the server's \AutoData\AutoTemp folder. Then self installs it on the station performing this Online Update. - Also very straight forward and simple to understand.
Now when the other stations log onto AutoShop on this multi-station network they will be notified that a newer version of AutoShop is available for automatic installation. Click "Yes" '. From there the system will automatically copy the files from the servers \AutoData\AutoTemp folder into this stations \AutoUser folder. Again, very easy.
