Network Setup of The AutoShop Controller
This section is not meant to teach you how setup a network with the Windows operating system.
Please note that each network client requires you to map the network drive to your data server.
After AutoShop is correctly installed on the server then on each workstation please take the CD-ROM of The AutoShop Controller and perform a local workstation install. This only installs the required files on your local workstation in the C:\AutoUser folder. In this folder is the auto.exe application plus all report layouts, help files, etc.
You data should exist on your servers hard drive in the \AutoData folder.
If AutoShop does not see a mapped drive upon software startup then following screen may appear:
In the "System Files Path" please enter the mapped drive letter of your dataserver. Usually F:\AutoData.
Click "save" and all should be well.
