Customize / Transaction Settings / Service

This option can be found on the main menu by choosing Management | Customize | Transaction Settings, and then choosing the service tab.

Charge Shop Fee - When this box is checked, the program will automatically charge the shop fee that you designate in this screen.  Percentages must be entered in decimal form (for example, 7% would be entered as 0.07).  Also, you can choose to charge tax1 or tax2 on the shop fee.

Track Actual Hours Spent on Job - Checking this box will cause the program to ask for the hours spent when a job is entered onto the Work Screen.  This is only for record keeping, and it will not affect the cost of a service.  If you are charging an hourly rate for services, simply make the price the hourly rate, and enter the hours in the quantity field.

Standard Labor Rate for Jobs - This is what determines the price when using estimating software such as All Data and Mitchell Auto.  These programs return the standard number of hours for a certain job, and the program multiplies those hours by the Standard Labor Rate entered here to determine the total price.

Default Service Interval - This is the number of days that the Due Date Screen uses to determine the due date for next service.

Default Oil Change Interval - This is the number of days that the Due Date Screen uses to determine the due date for the next oil change.  When you perform an oil change on somebodies car, the program recognizes this and automatically updates the Due Date Screen.

Estimating Software - This is where you can tell the program which estimating software you are using (All Data, Mitchell, or none).
